India using NIA as political tool

Srinagar, July 31, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has said that India cannot dent the internationally-recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir through crackdowns, arrests and other brutal means.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the use of National Investigation Agency by Indian rulers as a political tool to force the resistance leadership into submission was doomed to fail. He condemned the raid on the residence of illegally detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi in Srinagar.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement condemned the NIA raid on the house of DeM Chief Aasiya Andrabi. He said that the Kashmiris would not tolerate any meddling with Article 35-A that grants special rights and privileges to the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a number of lawyers associated with Kashmir Bar Association held a protest march in Islamabad town, today, against the Indian conspiracies aimed at abrogating the Article 35-A. The lawyers were holding placards which read “Save Article 35-A, save our identity”, “We are committed to safeguard Article 35-A”.

The representatives of twenty-seven bodies from a cross section of the society addressing a press conference in Srinagar vowed to protect the hereditary state subject law of Jammu and Kashmir at the cost of their lives.

In yet another deep conspiracy against the Kashmiri political detainees, Delhi-run Governor Rule has removed a legal provision that prohibited the shifting and lodging of Kashmiri residents detained under draconian law, Public Safety Act, in jails outside Jammu and Kashmir. The detainees under the PSA can now be lodged in Indian jails outside the territory.

On the other hand, an article authored by Rania Abouzeid titled, “Conflict in Kashmir Takes a Grim Toll on Unwitting Victims” has been published along with the photographs clicked in occupied Kashmir on website of globally famous National Geographic Magazine. Kashmir Council European Union Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, in a statement said that the international coverage of Cédric Gerbehaye’s photographs helped in raising the miseries of the oppressed people in occupied Kashmir.
