Indian Army Chief’s remarks over Kashmir denounced

Srinagar, January 19, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) and the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) have denounced the Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat for his recent remarks on Kashmir. The Indian Army Chief in his remarks stated that the people of Kashmir cannot get freedom from India due to its military might.

The DFP General Secretary, Maulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Indian army chief’s day to day statements about Kashmir proved that New Delhi was only interested in military approach to address the lingering Kashmir dispute. “India has closed all political and diplomatic ways to settle the dispute,” he said.

He said Kashmir dispute is political in nature and the Kashmiri people are engaged in a peaceful struggle for its settlement but New Delhi is continuously creating hurdles in the way of achieving this objective. India has been ignoring the sentiments of the Kashmiri people for the past over seven decades and has been resorting to military means to suppress their jus struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

The JKML spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that the assertion of the Indian army chief was far from reality as the people of Kashmir had been rendering sacrifices for last several decades and would continue their struggle till complete freedom from Indian bondage.

He also condemned the searching of a female madrassa, Jamia Lilbanaat in Laal Bazaar besides house to house search in several localities including Kiran Nagar, Kaka Saraye, Habba Kadal and Chankran Mohallah in Srinagar by the Indian troops. He said the purpose of such action is to harass and frighten the people of Kashmir.

The spokesman said that India and its stooges could not suppress the freedom sentiments of the people of Kashmir through such cheap tactics and they would take the ongoing liberation movement to its logical conclusion at all costs.
