Islamabad: Visiting Indian Rajiya Sabha member Mani Shankar Aiyar Thursday stressed need for uninterrupted dialogue between Pakistan and India to discuss all issues.
Speaking on India & Pakistan: Retrospect & Prospect at function organized by Jinnah Institute here, he said dialogue should be holistic and media taken on board about its progress. He felt tension between two countries has no religious or institutional base and misunderstandings can be addressed by transferring dialogue into an uninterruptable process.
Mani Shankar said there is no concept of Akhund Bharat in his country. “India respects reality of a sovereign and independent Pakistan. Good relations with Pakistan suit India regionally and internationally,” he observed.
Pakistan’s former High Commissioner to India Aziz Ahmad Khan noted that suspended dialogue between two countries has resumed and hoped it would be taken forward with sincerity.
