Srinagar, July 01, 2023 (PPI-OT): A paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Wazir Bagh area of Srinagar district today. Officials said that the constable (name withheld) of CRPF 117 battalion fired upon himself and died on the spot.
The trooper on being spotted in pool of blood was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. A police officer confirmed the incident to the media and said that it was not immediately known as to why the trooper took the extreme step. He said investigation is underway in this regard.
