India’s decision to ban Eid prayers in IOK condemned

Islamabad, July 27, 2020 (PPI-OT): The Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement, Abdul Majeed Mir has strongly condemned the decision of India to close all mosques and shrines in occupied Kashmir for congregational Eid prayers.

Abdul Majeed Mir in a statement issued in Islamabad said that it was unfortunate that India locked mosques in occupied Kashmir and imposed curfew on the occasion of Eid to prevent Muslims from performing their religious duties.

He said that India was constantly committing state terrorism and violating basic rights of Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir. He deplored that the international community, including the United Nations, had maintained a criminal silence on the Indian crimes against Kashmiris, which was regrettable.

Abdul Majeed Mir urged the international human rights organizations to take notice of the grave human rights violations by Indian forces in the occupied territory and put pressure on India to settle the lingering dispute according to the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He lamented that the United Nations had failed to implement its own resolutions on Kashmir and said that Kashmiri people would continue their liberation struggle despite of all kinds of atrocities till taking it to its logical conclusion.
