Indonesian CG visits Mohenjo Daro along with family

LARKANA: Consul General of Indonesia Dr June Kuncoro visited world heritage monuments of Mohenjo Daro here on Tuesday along with his family members. He went through the ruins of great bath, stupa, museum and other historical places and expressed his keen interest into the historical places. He was briefed about the historical importance of the site by posted guide Javed Shaikh.

He said on the occasion that the old stupa of Gotam Budh was also found in his country Indonesia which was prepared in 7th century by his followers. He said they used to live there and worship it at that time. He said stupa of Sindh’s Mohenjo Daro is 200 years older than that of found in Indonesia which proved that Sindh at that time was very much established.

He said these stupa prove that followers of Gotam Budh were living in several parts of the world comfortably. He said Sindh’s great culture is thousands of years old which should be properly preserved and taken care of for the world community to visit frequently and get surprised. The family also procured mud artificial artefacts from a vendor as a treasure for their memory.
