The Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility of smog and light fog in some plain areas of Punjab during the morning and night hours, raising concerns about reduced visibility for residents and travelers.

According to the forecast made on Tuesday morning, dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. In contrast, a cold wave will persist in the mountainous regions of the country.

A significant difference in temperatures was observed this morning in major urban centers. Karachi recorded the highest temperature at eighteen degrees Celsius, while Lahore was at thirteen and the federal capital Islamabad at seven degrees.

Among other key locations, Peshawar and Muzaffarabad were both at eight degrees Celsius, and Murree at six degrees. The lowest temperatures were recorded in Quetta at one degree Celsius and Gilgit at minus one degree, which is below freezing point.

In occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the weather is also expected to remain dry and cold, especially in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla. A similar dry weather forecast has been issued for Jammu.

According to the temperatures recorded in the region this morning, Leh was the coldest place at minus five degrees Celsius. Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian each recorded two degrees, while Baramulla was at three and Jammu at ten degrees Celsius.
