In the ongoing campaign against crime, the Karachi Police have significantly intensified their operations, resulting in multiple arrests and the recovery of large quantities of illegal items. Under the guidance of Additional AIG Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, the police force has shown effective performance in reducing the crime rate in the city.
During the past week, law enforcement officers engaged in 11 intense encounters with alleged robbers in various zones of Karachi, resulting in the death of three suspects and injuries to 13 others. During these operations, 16 individuals were arrested, with 13 different types of unauthorized weapons and five stolen motorcycles recovered.
On a broader scale, police have detained over 1058 suspects in targeted operations across the eastern, western, and southern zones of the city. The campaign was also focused on the trafficking of drugs, where officers seized narcotics worth millions of rupees. These included approximately 22 kilograms and 566 grams of hashish, ice/crystal meth, and heroin.
Furthermore, law enforcement agencies recovered more than 86 types of illegal weapons and ammunition, used in various crimes such as robberies. Along with these recoveries, officers also secured 32 stolen motorcycles and two large vehicles, which represent a significant blow to local theft and robbery operations.
The ongoing efforts of the Karachi Police highlight a robust strategy to dismantle crime networks in the city. These actions will continue with the aim of restoring peace and ensuring the safety of the residents of Karachi.
