Srinagar, May 24, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, for the second time in the holy month of Ramadan, the authorities didn’t allow people to offer Friday congregational prayers at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. The authorities imposed curfew and oter restrictions in Srinagar and other areas of the Kashmir Valley, today, to prevent demonstrations against the killing of prominent mujahid commander, Zakir Musa.
The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who delivers weekly Friday sermon at the historic mosque, condemned the barring of Juma prayers at the Jamia. In a twitter he wrote, “Condemn that for the second time in Ramadan Juma prayers disallowed at Jama Masjid. Extremely sad that each day Kashmir loses its promising young in one way or other to the lingering conflict.” He urged all stakeholders to the Kashmir dispute to come together to put an end to this daily killing and violence and bring peace to this beleaguered land by resolving the dispute.
