Irrigation Minister takes notice of the breach in Canals

Karachi, July 30, 2018 (PPI-OT): Caretaker Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Public Health engineering, Rural Development, Inter Provincial Coordination and Excise and taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has taken notice of 20 feet wide breach in Begari Canal and 15 feet wide breach in Noj Canal and asked the Chief engineer and Xens concerned to take immediate measures to cope up with the situation and save standing rice crop to be flooded with the water.

He also taken notice of water shortage in Warah Barrage and Phanwar Branch in District Qamber and the news of selling water by Irrigation Officials. The caretaker Minister Mushtaq Ahmed Shah asked the Secretary Irrigation Sindh to look into the matter and take appropriate action against the Irrigation staff who were found involved in malpractices.
