ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday underlined the government's resolve to bringing the country out of its economic crisis and back on track for growth and prosperity. In a press conference in Islamabad, he clearly denied rumours about the cancellation of his official travel to the United States and participation in IMF and World Bank meetings.
The Finance Minister stated that the main reason for cancelling his trip to the United States for the annual and spring sessions of the IMF and World Bank was the country's current political and constitutional crisis. He stated that he is participating in virtual review meetings, where a team of senior officials is attending the necessary sessions as scheduled, in total collaboration with him. Notwithstanding difficult economic situations, Pakistan, according to the minister, fulfils all of its international obligations.
