Islamabad police on Monday claimed to have apprehended 26 criminals in a sweeping operation aimed at enhancing public safety and combating criminal activities within the capital city.
The police said that teams from various police stations across Islamabad seized a significant cache of illegal items, including 10 bottles of alcohol, over two kilograms of hashish, ice (crystal methamphetamine), two rifles, 10 pistols with ammunition, and two daggers. Cases have been filed against the 20 suspects found in possession of these contraband items, with investigations underway.
In a separate initiative targeting fugitives and wanted individuals, law enforcement officials also captured six more criminals. Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Muhammad Shoaib Khan emphasized the Islamabad Police”s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He declared that maintaining peace and order is paramount and that any disruption will not be tolerated. Citizen security remains the department”s utmost concern.
Khan encouraged the public to report any suspicious behavior or occurrences to their local police station or through the emergency hotline “Pucar-15.” He highlighted the importance of community collaboration in achieving a crime-free environment.
