Islamabad court extends Imran Khan’s interim bail in 10 cases

KARACHI: Islamabad District Sessions Court Thursday granted an extension to bails granted to former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan in 10 cases related to PTI’s recent long mach.

Sessions Court Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti heard Imran Khan’s interim bail applications in the Islamabad District Sessions Court and extended interim bails of Imran Khan in 10 cases of till July 30.

However, the court refused to grant Khan bail in a fresh case number 425 registered at Kohsar Police station over the absence of the accused. The court accepted Imran Khan’s request for exemption from attendance as the latter is in Lahore. The judge remarked that the cases are of political natures but the accused must also appear.

Junior lawyer Rai Tajmal told the court that Babar Awan could not appear before the court as he is going abroad. The judge remarked that Imran Khan must appear in case number 425 registered in Kohsar police station. “It is a fresh bail in case number 425 and if the accused appears, then I will issue the order,” remarked the judge. He also ordered to fix the fresh bail application for the next hearing on July 30 on the application of Rai Tajamal.
