Islamabad: The federal government on Saturday removed Islamabad IGP Ahsan Younus and transferred his services to Punjab government. According to official information, the government removed Islamabad IGP Younus and transferred him to Punjab while appointing BPS-20 officer Akbar Nasir Khan as new Islamabad IGP. Mr Khan had already served in the National Counter Terrorism Authority Pakistan (NACTA). Younus was appointed as the Islamabad IGP in December 2021 by the previous PTI government.
