Islamabad Police on Thursday carried out a grand search and combing operation in various areas under the jurisdiction of Industrial Area Police Station, Secretariat Police Station, and Bani Gala Police Station.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs), with female police officers also participating.

Before the operation began, all personnel were thoroughly briefed on the objectives and protocols of the mission.

During the operation, a total of 171 individuals were checked, along with 188 households and 15 shops. Furthermore, 108 motorcycles and 52 vehicles were inspected. Police shifted 15 suspicious individuals to the concerned police stations for further investigation.

In a significant breakthrough, two suspects involved in drug peddling were arrested, and authorities recovered 2,000 grams of heroin and 60 liters of liquor from their possession.

The operation aims to curb crime and ensure safety in the area. Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police has issued strict directives for similar grand search operations across the district to eliminate criminal elements.

Citizens have been requested to cooperate with law enforcement during these checks and report any suspicious activities to the police.

“The safety of the public remains our top priority,” said a spokesperson for Islamabad Police.
