On the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has intensified its traffic enforcement campaign across the capital.

The ITP on Monday released its performance report for the past week, highlighting extensive legal actions against traffic violators.

According to the report, a total of 792 vehicles and motorcycles were penalized for violating traffic rules during the week. Additionally, 1,779 motorcycles and 1,532 vehicles were impounded and shifted to police stations for various violations committed during driving.

Specific violations and actions taken include: Lane violations: 469, Driving without a license: 111, Illegal parking: 1,816, Wrong-way driving: 775, Vehicles without number plates: 1,051, Signal violations: 1,103, and Riding without helmets: 1,302.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Captain (r) Syed Zeeshan Haider, emphasized that the campaign is being carried out indiscriminately and in accordance with a zero-tolerance policy toward traffic law violations.

CTO Zeeshan Haider directed all traffic personnel to ensure no individual drives without a valid license, underscoring the commitment to strict enforcement. He further appealed to citizens to cooperate with traffic police for improved road safety and a disciplined traffic system in the capital.
