Zero tolerance for illegal parking in Islamabad is now in full force, following the stringent directives issued by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Capt (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider.

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has ramped up efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow, enhance the city’s integrated traffic system, and uphold rigorous compliance with traffic regulations.

In a decisive move to counteract the persistent challenge of unlawful parking, the ITP has launched a comprehensive crackdown targeting no-parking violations across the city. A special squad has been mobilized to focus on areas around shopping malls, markets, and other commercial hubs, where the incidence of such infractions is notably high. These measures are part of a broader initiative to maintain order and safety on Islamabad”s roads.

CTO Haider has communicated explicit instructions to all zonal DSPs (Deputy Superintendents of Police), underlining the importance of enforcing traffic laws without prejudice. He highlighted the necessity of intensifying actions against those whose vehicles obstruct traffic and disrupt public road discipline.

Furthermore, Haider clarified that parking should be confined to designated areas, particularly in busy shopping centers, to avoid congestion and ensure accessibility. He has made it clear that there will be no concessions for violators of no-parking zones, emphasizing the rights of pedestrians to unobstructed passage on footpaths.

The citizens of Islamabad are encouraged to cooperate with these efforts by complying with the established traffic laws, contributing to the efficacy of the city’s traffic management system. This initiative not only aims to improve vehicular movement but also enhances the overall quality of urban life by making public spaces more organized and accessible.

The Islamabad Capital Police urges the public to support these initiatives, promising improved facilities for all citizens visiting commercial centers, thereby fostering a more orderly and efficient urban environment.
