The Islamabad Police have announced a comprehensive security plan for Eid-ul-Azha, being observed tomorrow (Saturday), aiming to ensure the safety of citizens and the smooth flow of traffic during the festive days.
According to a spokesperson for Islamabad Police, more than 3,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed across the city. The security of all mosques and Eid congregations, including Faisal Mosque, will be made effective and robust, said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq.
Special traffic units will be stationed to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow, while Dolphin Force officers will patrol various areas to maintain law and order. In case of any emergency, Quick Response Teams from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) will remain on high alert.
Special police units will also be deployed at recreational spots to ensure public safety during the holidays. All zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs), Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), and Station House Officers (SHOs) have been directed to stay within their respective jurisdictions throughout the Eid period.
Citywide security will also be monitored through Safe City surveillance cameras, added DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq. The DIG urged citizens to report any suspicious activity immediately by calling the police helpline at 15 and requested public cooperation during security checks.
‘Islamabad Police is committed round the clock to protecting the lives and property of the citizens,’ emphasized DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq.
