Amir Kashif Saeed Shaikh of Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh has said that only Jamaat-e-Islami is playing the role of a true opposition party in the country. He criticized the ruling PPP administration, alleging that corruption and incompetence are responsible for the widespread poverty in Tharparkar and Sindh, while the region is rich in resources. Shaikh highlighted the failure to provide clean drinking water despite significant investment in RO plants, during a ceremony held at the Mithi Press Club Hall to mark Jamaat-e-Islami’s 85th anniversary.
Shaikh emphasized the party’s democratic structure, contrasting it with the “dynastic politics” prevalent in other parties. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami operates through elected councils (Majlis-e-Shura), which promotes accountability and collective decision-making. He presented the organization as a global religious movement, free from hereditary leadership.
The leader presented Jamaat-e-Islami as the real opposition in Pakistan, criticizing the ruling elite’s indifference to inflation and unemployment. He noted the disparity between the wealth of Thar’s mineral resources and the financial woes of its inhabitants. Shaikh also lauded Jamaat-e-Islami’s welfare initiatives in Tharparkar, citing contributions to water supply, healthcare, and education. Other party leaders, including Sohail Ahmed Shariq, Mir Muhammad Balidi, and Yasin Latif Mughal, also addressed the gathering.
