Muhammad Farooq, a member of the Sindh Assembly from Jamaat-i-Islami, has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Sindh High Court. The Sindh High Court had dismissed the petition on this matter on March 28.

Muhammad Farooq has challenged the purchase of 138 double-cabin vehicles by the Sindh government for the bureaucracy, stating that the purchase will incur expenses of approximately 2 billion rupees, which will be covered by public tax money.

According to the JI Media Cell, Muhammad Farooq stated that a notification was issued on September 3 in this regard, but he demands it be declared illegal and that its implementation be suspended until a court decision is made.

He further stated that the inflation rate in the country is over 28%, and the province’s public does not have access to basic health and education facilities.

Muhammad Farooq claimed that taxpayers’ money should be used for public welfare and that the purchase of vehicles for the bureaucracy does not benefit the public. He alleged that this is an abuse of power and a misuse of public funds.
