Srinagar, January 12, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has expressed concern over the plight of illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails. The JKLF spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Kashmiri youth were being tortured, terrorized and humiliated by the Indian police and other forces and pushed to the wall.
He said that a delegation from Sonawari visited the JKLF office and informed the party leaders about the torture and intimidation to which youth of the area were being subjected to by the occupational forces.
Giving details of ordeal faced by a youth, Sajad Ahmed Niay of Naidkhai, Sumbal, who was detained at Srinagar Central Jail and was released on bail but re-arrested by the police, the delegation said that he was shifted to Sumbal Police Station even after he submitted bail order at the Central Jail.
The delegates said that the said police station he was ruthlessly beaten to pulp by police men and shifted back to Srinagar Central Jail in injured condition. Similarly, another youth, Ghulam Mohiuddin Khan, has been in custody for last two months where he was being tortured and humiliated.
The JKLF spokesman said that these atrocities were pushing Kashmiri youth to the wall. He said that police stations had become Nazi camps where no Kashmiri was safe and where innocent youth were being tortured. He appealed to the international community and world human rights organizations to intervene and use their good offices to save the lives of young Kashmiris.
