PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) on Tuesday filed a writ petition in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) for the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
JUI leader Maulana Ahmad Ali filed the writ petition against Imran Khan through senior lawyer Kamran Murtaza. The petitioner pleaded with the court to declare Imran Khan disqualified for any official and public office.
“Imran Khan married Bushra Bibi during Iddat, and marriage during Iddat is against Sharia,” it was stated in the petition.
“Imran Khan is no longer honest and trustworthy. He should be disqualified,” the petition demanded.
