Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Rohri Taluka took out a protest rally here on Sunday against the rising lawlessness and deteriorating law and order situation in the Sukkur region.
Participants carried banners and placards with strong slogans against police incompetence, corruption, and lawlessness. They chanted slogans against the police and the government, expressing anger over the worsening security situation.
While addressing the protest, JUI leaders, including Maulana Abdul Karim Abbasi criticized the police, saying that Sukkur police have completely failed to provide security to the citizens.
They said that armed criminals roam freely in both urban and rural areas of the district, while citizens are left unprotected.
The protesters also strongly condemned a recent horrifying robbery incident in Pano Aqil, where armed robbers broke into a citizen’s house, looted 83 tolas of gold jewelry, cash, and other valuables, and fled.
