Junaid propels Rangoonwala CC into T-20 League Cricket final

KARACHI: Muhammad Junaid put an all-round performance as defending champion Rangoonwala Cricket Club outclassed Hawks United Cricket Club by six wicket to reach the final of the second edition of Corporate T20 League Cricket Tournament here at Quaid-e-Azam Park Cricket Ground in Steel Town.

Man of the match Muhammad Junaid first took one wicket for 12 runs and later he struck unbeaten 61-ball 69 with five sixes and three fours.

Earlier, Hawks United CC batted first and were bowled out for 142 in 19.4 overs in the first semifinal. Muhammad Talha scored 42 off 31 with five fours and one six. Rangoonwala bowlers Ejaz Ahmed (3-21), Moazzam Ali (2-21) and Muhammad Junaid (1-12) performed well.

In response, Rangoonwala CC reached the target with six wickets in hand – thanks to Junaid. Ahmed Abdul Malik also batted well scoring 34 off 32 with five fours.

The second semifinal will be played between Karachi Striker and C-Square Pythons.
