JUP leader demands resignation from railway minister

KARACHI: Expressing sorrow and grief over the tragic trains incident near Ghotki, Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zabeer, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan said on Tuesday that the accident was a clear indication of negligence and incompetence of the railway department; therefore, the railway minister should resign. “Hundreds of people have died in eight train accidents in the last three years under the Khan government, he noted. He said that no action had been taken against any responsible person in this regard till date due to which such accidents were happening again and again,” he said in a statement.

 

He said that the Ghotki trains accident occurred due to the incompetence and negligence of the railway officials. “Therefore, the railways should be cleared of black sheep. That is to say, the condition of the said railway track is known in advance.” Such accidents will continue to happen and the blood of the people will continue to flow. He demanded that the government should provide the best medical facilities to the injured. The Prime Minister should take immediate action to provide relief to the passengers on an emergency basis. He prayed that may Allah Almighty bless those who lost their lives in the accident, elevate their ranks and grant patience to their families. “May He grant speedy recovery to the injured in the accident?”
