LARKANA:Recently posted Commissioner, Larkana Division, Ghanwar Ali Leghari, visited under-construction work of Kandhkot-Ghotki Bridge over Indus River where he was also given briefing by the contractor during a meeting held at their camp office which was also participated by the Deputy Commissioner Munwar Ali Mithani, SSP and other relevant officers.

Tanveer Memon of R A Construction Company informed the commissioner that the distance between Kandhkot and Ghotki will be reduced after the completion of the bridge work and people will get maximum benefit. He said that construction work has been going on for the past two years and will be completed within the stipulated period of three years. Memon further claimed 15 lac cusec water will easily pass under the bridge.

Commissioner Leghari said that with the construction of this bridge people will get employment opportunities and it will start a new phase of development in Sindh. Leghari also chaired another meeting at the office of deputy commissioner which was about functioning of price control committees, revenue issues and polio eradication from the district. He pointed out that taluka Tangwani is lacking behind in the anti-polio campaign for which more work needs to be done.

Leghari also directed the revenue department officials to carry out legitimate works of Khatedars without delay and they should be given due respect. He said if he received any complaints against them he would not hesitate to take stern action against the relevant Mukhtiarkar, Supervisor and Tapedar.
