Kashmir dispute legacy of two-nation theory: Aasiya

Srinagar, February 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has said that Kashmir dispute is the unfinished agenda of the Partition Plan, which was based on two-nation theory. The DeM Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi while addressing activists and members during a seminar at her Soura residence in Srinagar said, “There is no skepticism in it that we want to be with Pakistan.”

The seminar was organised on the completion of 25 years in illegal detention by Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) President, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, who is also her husband. “Kashmir dispute came into existence because of two-nation theory and it remains to be the unfinished agenda of the Partition Plan,” Aasiya Andrabi added.

Terming the detention of Dr Fakhtoo as political vendetta, she said he is being put behind the bars because of his political ideology. “It is difficult for a woman to spend her life without her husband. No one except a woman would understand it,” Aasiya Andrabi said and added that Dr Fakhtoo was the only prisoner to have completed 25 years in prison since 1931.

The Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek Khawateen, Zamruda Habib, in her address stressed the need to understand Dr Fakhtoo beyond the perspective of DeM and Aasiya Andrabi. “He himself is an institution and I believe he should be seen beyond the prism of Aasiya Andrabi and DeM,” she said.

“I have read very little about him and I believe India came to know about his fertile mind when he delivered a speech in England after he was granted bail under TADA Act,” Zamruda Habib said. “India tried to negotiate a deal with him at least eight times but it failed to do that,” she added.
