Kashmiris to observe India’s Republic Day as Black Day on Thursday

ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris on both sides of Line of Control (LoC) and world over will observe India’s Republic Day on Thursday as Black Day to impress upon world to take notice of New Delhi’s continued denial of right to self-determination to Kashmiri people.

Call for the observance of the Black Day has been given by All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC). The day will be marked as a black day in occupied Kashmir, Azad Kashmir and abroad with anti-India demonstrations and rallies to give a strong message to world that India is a usurper in the occupied territory, according to a Radio Pakistan’s report.

Senior APHC leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, in a message from Delhi’s infamous Tihar jail said the people of Kashmir have time and again rejected the Indian illegal occupation through peaceful means of resistance, protests and public demonstrations. The incarcerated leader appealed to the people to observe complete shutdown in Kupwara district on the martyrdom anniversary of Handwara massacre, tomorrow (Wednesday).
