Srinagar, July 14, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that the Kashmiris are pursuing a peaceful movement to achieve their right to self-determination and they will never succumb to the state terrorism unleashed by India to suppress their struggle.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the curbs imposed by the occupation authorities, yesterday, to prevent a march towards Naqashband Sahib. The APHC Chairman said that India had turned occupied Kashmir into a military garrison. He criticized the Indian rulers for their undemocratic and autocratic approach on Kashmir.
The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement in Srinagar welcomed the assertion of the UN Chief, Antonio Guterres, wherein he backed the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zaid Ra’ad Hussein’s call for international investigation into human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown continued in Trehgam area of Kupwara district on the third consecutive day, today, against the killing of a civilian, Khalid Ahmed Malik, by Indian troops. Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in Halmatpora area of Kupwara district. Indian police arrested three youth during nocturnal raids in Kakapora area of Pulwama.
India’s National Investigation Agency has summoned a Kashmiri journalist, Aaqib Javaid, for examination in connection with a false case registered against Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, and her two associates. On the other hand, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement in Srinagar said that its activists held demonstrations in world capitals including London, Brussels and Paris to pay tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs of 13th July 1931.
In London the Jammu and Kashmir Right to Self-Determination Movement International, headed by Raja Najabat Hussain, in a statement said that the European Parliament’s Committee on Human Rights had decided to hold a hearing on the human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
