KCCI team attends PAJCCI-DGTO meetings, discusses gas issues

KARACHI: A high-level delegation of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) led by Chairman Businessmen Group Zubair Motiwala and President KCCI Muhammad Idrees attended numerous meetings on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in Islamabad including a meeting of Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) on barter trade, Meeting with Directorate General Trade Organizations and Meeting with Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik.

During PAJCCI’s Meeting, the representatives of business and industrial communities of both the countries thoroughly discussed and agreed upon the basics of Pakistan-Afghanistan barter trade which will be implemented within the next 90 days.

A meeting with Directorate General of Trade Organizations was also held wherein numerous matters pertaining to trade organizations were discussed in detail and the issues raised were resolved by Muhammad Sualeh Farooqi while Former President KCCI Junaid Makda would take up all such issues and ensure follow-up.

KCCI delegation also held a meeting with Minister of State Musadik Malik to discuss the overall gas crises being faced by the country, particularly the gas shortages and low gas pressure being faced by the business and industrial community of Karachi. State Minister informed that a formula was being devised to deal with the gas shortages being suffered by the business and industrial community as the government wants to make sure that the industrial wheels keep on spinning without any interruption. He assured that the gas issue will be resolved soon after the budget so that the hardships being faced by the consumers could be minimized.
