ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has taken over the charge of Ministry of Railways.
Chairman/Secretary Railways Syed Khalid Gardezi Additional Secretary/Secretary Railway Board Mazhar Ali Shah, CEO Zafar Zaman Ranjha and other senior officials received him at his arrival in the office. Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique presided over a special meeting at the Ministry of Railways on security of train operations after taking charge of the railways.
In the meeting he reiterated that the safety of passengers and providing them the best facilities are among his top priorities. Secretary/Chairman Railways Syed Khalid Gardezi and Director General Operations Ministry of Railway briefed the Minister. Saad Rafique said that safety of life and property of passengers should be ensured and any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated at all.
He also stressed on installing surveillance equipment to avoid these things. He directed all the Divisional Officers to ensure the safety of the passengers as well as the public awareness. The Minister emphasized on increasing the revenue and reducing the expenses of Pakistan Railways to make it a stable and dynamic entity.
