Khuhro rejects 10% increase in medicine prices

Larkana: President, PPP, Sindh, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, has rejected the government decision to enhance medicine prices by 10% and increase the TV license fee from Rs 35 to Rs100.

In a statement issued here Saturday, Khuhro said that the people will come out on roads to launch a civil disobedience struggle if the decision to increase prices of essential commodities of daily use, eatables, medicines, electricity and gas are not taken back.

He said after the increase in wheat flour, sugar, electricity and gas rates people have been deprived of their right to live by increasing prices of medicines. He said that the agenda of Tabdeeli Sarkar is to benefit the mafia and destruction of the poor people. He said people are being deprived of medical treatment by enhancing rates of the medicines after the federal government’s failure to collect taxes and burden is being shifted to the ailing people which will not be tolerated.

He said they will not allow the PTI government to run away from peoples issues. Nisar Khuhro said that people want relief but Imran Khan’s policy is to divide and rule. He said that an 18 hours electricity load shedding is being carried out in Sindh which has crippled life. He said the PTI government is taking revenge for not getting votes from Sindh on the one hand and on the other rates of essential items including medicines, flour, sugar, electricity and gas have been arbitrarily increased.

Khuhro said that double standards will not be allowed as “Bani Galla se bijli jatee nahin aur Sindh main bijli aatee nahin”. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan should stop ruling the country like dictators or else people will launch a civil disobedience movement.

He said the whole people’s single demand from Imran Khan is to have mercy over the country and resign immediately. Khuhro said Khan should learn lessons from dictators or else his fate will be like that of Musharraf. He demanded resignation of the prime minister and early elections.
