Seven villagers, including a young boy, were abducted at gunpoint from the Malik community in village Sukhiyo Malik late Saturday night. The abductors, identified as a group of outlaws, led their captives to the katcha area of Chak. The kidnapped individuals include Noor Hassan, Muhammad Nawaz, Shafi Muhammad, Ahsan Ali, Abdul Aziz, and 13-year-old Salman, all from the Malik community.

On Sunday, a video surfaced on social media showing the captives pleading for the cessation of police operations in the katcha area, expressing their desire to return safely. SSP Shikarpur Shahzeb Chachar revealed that the abductions were intended to exert pressure on law enforcement to halt their ongoing operations targeting criminal elements in the region. These operations, notably aimed at arresting facilitators involved in the murder case of journalist Jan Muhammad Mahar, have been intensified following the death of accused Sher Muhammad Mahar during police action.

Authorities continue their efforts to rescue the kidnapped villagers, with police expressing confidence in their imminent release. The operation in the katcha area persists as officers work tirelessly to apprehend the remaining outlaws and ensure the safe return of the captives.
