Killing of two Shopian students by Indian troops condemned

Srinagar, January 29, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations continued to condemn the killing of two students by Indian troops in Shopian district. APHC leaders Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi and Mohammad Yousuf Naqash in their statements issued in Srinagar said India has given its forces free licence to kill and oppress Kashmiri people to crush their popular sentiment of freedom and silence their voices.

Zamrooda Habib and Farida Behanji in their separate statements termed it the worst kind of state terrorism and also denounced firing on peaceful protesters. They said sacrifices offered by Kashmiri people will not be allowed to go waste.

Mushtaq-ul-Islam said Indian forces are targeting Kashmiri Muslims irrespective of age and gender. He said India is playing its last card as it has realized that it cannot keep Kashmir for long. He urged the resistance leadership to chalk out an effective strategy to meet the ground situation. He said common people render huge and unparalleled sacrifices for the Kashmir cause.

Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Qutb Alam, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Jammu and Kashmir National Front, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League the President of Employees Joint Action Committee, Abdul Qayoom Wani, Voice of Victims, Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) and Kashmir Bar Association in their statements strongly condemned the killing and describe it the worst kind of Indian state terrorism. They said that India through use of brute force could not weaken the freedom sentiment of Kashmiris and would continue their struggle for securing right to self-determination till complete success.

The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement Chairman, Muhammad Shafi Lone in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the indiscriminate firing on the peaceful and unarmed protesters in Ganawpora by the brute Indian forces resulting in the death of two youth. He said forces have been given a free hand to kill innocent people in the territory. International Forum For Justice Chairman Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo in a statement asked for the arrest of the army ajor and his men involved in Shopain mayhem.
