PESHAWAR: A meeting of the Standing Committee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Energy and Power was held on Wednesday at Malakand III Hydro Power Station Dargai, chaired by Standing Committee Chairman and Member of the Provincial Assembly Laiq Muhammad Khan.

MPA Peer Musawar Ghazi, Ahmad Khan Kundi, Shafiq Sher Afridi, Sitara Afrin, Secretary Energy and Power Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Deputy Secretary Provincial Assembly Inamullah, Chief Executive Engineer of PEDO Naeem Khan and other relevant officers were also present.

Secretary Energy and Power briefed the participants of the meeting. While giving briefing, he said that 6 PEDO projects are working in the province. He also informed the committee about the power generation and revenue from the above mentioned projects.

Secretary Energy and Power also told the committee members about the revenue and other related issues facing with the federal government. Addressing the meeting, Chairman Standing Committee, Laiq Muhammad expressed satisfaction over the briefing and directed the concerned authorities to plant trees on 1000 kanal area of Malakand.

He further directed to pay special attention to improving all projects related to PEDO in the province so that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can be self-sufficient in electricity production. Earlier, the chairman of the standing committee and the members of the provincial assembly also inspected the power house and other different parts of the Malakand III hydro power station.
