PESHAWAR:Due to the severe financial crisis, the caretaker cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province has decided not to give salaries and pensions to employees on Eid.

According to a report, after a detailed briefing by the Finance Department, all employees and pensioners of the KP government have been approved to pay salaries on May 1, 2023, as per routine.

According to the Finance Department of the KP, only Rs13 billion were available in the provincial treasury account. So the finance department refused to pay salaries and pensions to the KP government employees before Eid.

It is worth mentioning that the federal government and caretaker government of Punjab has already announced to pay salaries and pensions to employees before Eid on April 17.
