ISLAMABAD:Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Shah Farman has resigned from his office.
He tendered his resignation to the President on Monday. Earlier, in a brief statement on Sunday, Shah Farman had announced that he will resign once PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif is elected as the Prime Minister. In the statement issued by the KP Governor House, Shah Farman had said: “I will relinquish as the governor after Shehbaz Sharif becomes the prime minister.”
“Being a governor, I will not be able to extend the required protocol to Shehbaz Sharif as the prime minister,” Mr Farman had said, adding that he would send his resignation to President Dr Arif Alvi.
