KU students protest against ban on Jamaat-e-Islami

Srinagar, March 13, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the students of University of Kashmir (KU), Srinagar, staged a protest demonstration inside the varsity campus, today, to protest against the ban on politico-socio-religious organisation, Jamaat-e-Islami, in the territory by Narendra Modi-led Indian government.

Scores of students from various departments took out a rally in the campus in Srinagar to condemn the ban on the Jamaat. While shouting slogans the students demanded the removal of the ban immediately. The Indian Home Ministry had recently imposed a ban on the Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir for five years. Hundreds of Jamaat leaders and activists including its Ameer, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz, have been arrested by Indian police so far.
