Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Shahid Abdul Salam Thahim, today firmly refuted claims that he lodged a complaint against Secretary Labour, Rafiq Qureshi, or sought his dismissal. He described recent media reports on the matter as inaccurate and misleading.
According to a statement issued by Sindh Information Department, the minister stressed that departmental operations adhere strictly to established rules and regulations.
Murad Waheed, spokesperson for the labour minister, affirmed that all development initiatives receive the requisite approvals from relevant authorities. He clarified that both the ongoing digitization efforts and the advertisement for motorcycle procurement comply with official procedures, leaving no scope for irregularities.
The minister highlighted the effective coordination between himself and the Secretary of Labour, underscoring the transparency and legal compliance within the department. He criticized attempts by unnamed sources to generate controversy and disseminate false information aimed at damaging the department’s reputation. “Sindh Government and the Labour Department are committed to the welfare of workers across the province. We reject any baseless allegations and urge the public not to believe in misleading propaganda,” he asserted.
The spokesperson reiterated the department’s dedication to improving the lives of laborers and ensuring the effective implementation of welfare programs.
