The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) today issued a strong condemnation of the recent Israeli attack on Iran, describing it as a flagrant violation of international norms and a dire threat to both regional stability and global peace.
In a statement, LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad, along with Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman and Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry, voiced their profound concerns about the escalating military actions and called for immediate global intervention to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
The LCCI leadership emphasized that the unprovoked aggression not only infringes on international law and the United Nations Charter but also poses a severe risk to the fragile peace in the Middle East. “We stand in absolute solidarity with the government and people of Iran during this critical and distressing time,” they affirmed.
The officials highlighted that such acts of aggression are completely unacceptable and particularly worrisome from a state known for its defiance of international agreements and recurrent use of military force, which destabilizes the region. They pointed out that this incident marks a significant escalation that could potentially lead to a broader conflict, impacting millions adversely.
The trio of leaders asserted that Iran, as a sovereign country, has every right to defend its borders and national security. They urged international bodies, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), along with all nations advocating for peace, to initiate diplomatic and legal actions to hold Israel accountable and to curb any further provocations.
Addressing the broader implications, the LCCI office-bearers warned that ongoing instability in the Middle East could have extensive negative repercussions not only on political stability but also on the global economic landscape, affecting international trade routes, energy supplies, and investor confidence worldwide.
Highlighting the close ties between Pakistan and Iran, they expressed that the Pakistani community profoundly feels the impact of the attack and stands firmly with Iran, emphasizing the need for unity and diplomatic engagement over conflict and aggression.
In conclusion, the LCCI called upon Muslim nations to unite and adopt a decisive stance through diplomatic and economic channels. They also appealed to global powers to acknowledge and act against the repeated breaches of law by Israel to avoid further destabilization in an already volatile region. The LCCI reiterated that silence in the face of injustice was unacceptable and that the time for decisive international action is now, to uphold justice and the rule of law across nations.
