Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has taken strict notice of the death of a citizen Waqas at Preedy Police Station’s lockup.

According to a statement by Sindh Home Ministry today, Lanjar ordered an investigation into the incident and sought a detailed report from DIG South.

He said that an inquiry must be conducted to determine how the citizen died in police custody. He instructed the authorities to ensure transparent investigation along with furnishing reports.

He said: “If anyone is found involved, the law will take its course. “Protecting the lives and property of citizens is the police’s responsibility.

The home minister warned that if any negligence by the police in discharging their duties is found, strict action will be taken.

Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has commended SSP Kandhkot-Kashmore and his team for their successful operation in the Katcha area of Karampur, which led to the safe recovery of two hostages.

Acknowledging the team’s dedication and efficient efforts, the minister appreciated their performance and congratulated them for the operation’s success.
