LARKANA:Commissioner, Larkana Division, Ghanwar Khan Leghari, Tuesday took notice of drinking water crisis in Badah after receipt of complaints, reached himself at the water supply scheme, enquired about the details and directed Executive Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department, to restore water supply within two days positively.
Leghari was informed by the residents that they were supplied drinking water through four bores where four motors were also installed out of which two have become dysfunctional and the Public Health Department has done nothing to repair the said bores and motors to restore water supply during the fasting month of Ramadan.
It must be mentioned here that 70% subsoil water of Badah has become arsenic and highly contaminated hence the government supplied safe drinking water to the residents through a water supply scheme for which four bores were erected where four heavy duty motors were installed. When the two bores became useless along with their motors because of massive prolonged electricity load shedding, citizens received less drinking water which created a water shortage crisis and the residents were forced to procure water out of their own pockets in this massive inflation and hot weather.
