LARKANA: Larkana police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a member of a notorious inter-provincial car-lifting gang.

The police said in a statement the detainee was one of its active members who was identified as Dildar, son of Muhammad Alam Jeho Abro, a resident of Mulan Abro village.

They said that he was arrested from Janwari Shakh located within the limits of Rasheed Wagan police station and recovered a weapon from his possession. The accused has so far confessed to have snatched cars from Alamgir Siyal, Yasir Mughal, Muhammad Yousif Brohi, Atta Muhammad Khakhrani and others, police added.

The accused is being interrogated further and more revelations are also expected. Two FIR Nos. 21/22 and 24/22 have been registered against him at the Rasheed Wagan police station under sections 353, 324, 402, 34 PPC and others. Police further said that the accused had disclosed the names of his other associates and soon they would also be taken to task. SSP Sarfraz Nawaz Shaikh has announced cash rewards for the team.
