Lawlessness, hooliganism will be catastrophic for India: Gilani

Srinagar, August 15, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the attack on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader, Umar Khalid, in broad daylight during a function in New Delhi saying that such lawlessness and hooliganism if not checked and stopped will have catastrophic effects for India.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar while terming the incident as yet another example of communal vandalism said that communal and fascist forces in India had never tolerated the existence of those standing for peace, justice and equal rights. He pointed out that the people who individually or collectively raised their voice and showed some concern about the basic and fundamental rights were being targeted, assaulted, tortured and even killed in present-day India.

Syed Ali Gilani further said majoritarian hegemony and highhandedness have crossed all the limits and the monster of intolerance and hatred is growing bigger and bigger with each passing day. “Saffron brigade on the behest and encouragement of rogues in power have made the life of every sane and conscious person’s life miserable,” he added. The APHC Chairman cautioned the Indian rulers that this lawlessness and hooliganism if not checked and stopped would have catastrophic effects on the very existence of India.
