QUETTA: Governor Balochistan, Justice (Retd) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai said Thursday that legislation in conformity with requirements of the modern era was required to be enacted so as to control the growing incidents of road accidents in Balochistan.

According to a Governor’s Secretariat statement, Yasinzai said that a comprehensive strategy was required to be devised to curtail road accidents on highways of Balochistan, adding that apart from measures adopted by the government for controlling road accidents, citizens, particularly drivers, would have to fulfill their responsibilities to control road accidents on highways of Balochistan province.

Briefing with regard to steps taken for controlling road accidents on highways of the province was given to Governor Balochistan. On the occasion, Deputy Inspector General, Motorway Police, Javed Ali Meher, Secretary, Transport Department, Government of Balochistan, Fateh Bhanger, Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan, Shah Nawaz Ali and other authorities were also present.
