Provincial Advisor for Livestock Syed Najmi Alam presides over a meeting of the Board of Directors of Sindh Institute of Animal Health held in his office, in which several projects were approved after discussing various agendas.

The meeting approved the preparation of the foot and mouth disease vaccine and passed it through different stages. Alam directed that considering the lack of research funds, separate funds should be allocated and the department should be made active for research work.

It was also approved to prepare the dog bite vaccine along with various vaccines. Alam directed the department to work diligently on various products and submit them for final approval through laboratory stages.

He said: “After the projects reach the market soon, we would be the only organization that can export the vaccine.” He said that a monthly report of carpet vaccines should be given. He directed the department to formulate a 20year breeding policy. The vaccine made by Sindh Institute of Animal Health would be checked by private companies, and June 2025 would be the last deadline to control foot and mouth disease, he added.
