long outstanding issue of Customs Agents has been resolved

Karachi: General Secretary Faisal Mushtaq in a press release stated that a long outstanding issue of Customs Agents has been resolved and number of free days. At air port godowns are being increased from two days to five days which definitely give enough time to clear the cargo at Air Freight Unit (AFU) without paying godown rent.

He added that this could be achieved without going into strike if cargo handlers would have shown their seriousness on the issue earlier.

He further stated that FBR especially Chairman FBR Mr. Mumtaz Haider Rizvi, Chief Collector South Mr. Ameer Khan Marwat, Chief Collector North Mr. Nisar Ahmad, Collector preventive Mr. Javed Ghani, Additional Collector Mr. Hasan Sardar and Assistant Collector Mr. Inam Ullah Wazir has played a positive role for an amicable solution of the issue.

He also thanked electronic and print media for highlighting the issue for an early resolution.

However Mr. Mushtaq said the KCCI role should have been more positive as this matter was also adding cost to the traders and there are many other issues such Shipping Companies and freight forwarder which needs to addressed from forums of Trade and Industry.
