Police in Karachi’s South District have arrested the main accused in the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl, following thorough investigative efforts at the crime scene, according to a statement issued by Sindh Home Minister office.
Authorities are conducting raids to capture two other accomplices involved in the case, the ministry further said. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar has praised SSP South and his team for their swift action and effective investigation leading to the arrest.
He also urged law enforcement to expedite efforts to apprehend the remaining two accused linked to the heinous crime. “The remaining accused involved in this horrific incident will be brought to justice soon,” Lanjar stated.
It may noted that a 12-year girl was found raped and murdered in Karachi’s Saddar area on Sunday, according to the police. A JPMC initial post-mortem examination findings mentioned sexual violence.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori had also taken notice of the rape and murder of the girl who whose tortured body was found from Lucky Star area of saddar, Karachi. He sought a detailed report from the Additional Inspector General of Karachi Police about the incident.
Tessori said that the murder of the girl following the assault was extremely alarming. He emphasised that those responsible must be brought to justice at all costs.
