KARACHI: The Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi, Khairul Nazran Abdul Rahman, called on Chief Secretary Sindh Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput at Sindh Secretariat, here on Wednesday .

The chief secretary on this occasion stated that there was a strong potential for further development and expansion of bilateral economic cooperation and partnership between Malaysia and Sindh province. He assured the Consul-General that the Sindh government would provide every possible facility to the Malaysian investors to invest in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the province.

On tourism, Malaysia is a no stranger to the people of Pakistan and the large number of Pakistani nationals visiting Malaysia every year speaks volume for the enhanced ties in the tourism sector between the two countries, he said. Echoing similar sentiments, the Consul-General apprised the chief secretary that Malaysia and Pakistan enjoy warm and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Malaysia’s presence in Karachi comes with high commitment to further promote bilateral relations between Malaysia and Sindh province, he added. Bilateral cooperation between the two countries, in general, is not only confined to political and economic spheres but also on other areas such as education, tourism, and technical assistance. He further informed that Malaysia imports Halal meat from Pakistan. On the occasion, the chief secretary presented traditional Sindhi Topi and Ajrak to the Consul General of Malaysia.
