SHAHDADPUR:A man was hit and killed by a Faisalabad-bound train in Shahdadpur area on Sunday.
According to rescue sources, the man, Illahi Bux Bodani, a resident of surrounding village of the town, was crossing the track at the outer signal of Shahdadpur railway line when he was struck by a fast-moving train going to Faisalabad from Karachi. As a result, he suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. The man was stated to be mentally-retarted.
Police shifted his body to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. The incident has created a mourning atmosphere in the village.
